Around noon on Sunday, Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton said that 41-year-old skier Keith Burke was found in the Scapegoat Wilderness area and appears to be fine.
At that time, they were working to bring him out and further assess his condition.
Burke was found approximately 5 miles from the trailhead on the North Fork the Blackfoot River.
Sheriff Dutton said that Burke was "quite surprised" as the plan that he knew of, was not a call or search and rescue until
another couple of days.
When search and rescue personnel encountered him he was skiing along the trail.
He stated it took him longer to make the trip than initially anticipated.
He was fine as he was still moving on his own.
All search members are back from the trail all and on their way back to Helena.
