A Missing Endangered Person Alert issued Friday for a missing Troy woman and a fugitive has been cancelled.
The Montana Department of Justice alert said Sandra Laffoon was last seen with Dan Savage Junior, a fugitive, September 2nd.
On Monday, Troy police said Laffoon and Savage were found in Portland, Oregon.
Officer Lori Faulkner said, after talking to Laffoon, she told police she went on her own free will with Savage. Faulkner said it was a group effort from different law enforcement agencies saying Savage was found because of his cell phone.
"We worked with other law enforcement agencies such as DCI," Faulkner said over the phone. "We did have some assistance from the county but myself and chief McLeod have been working through - with actually the cell phone provider, and then we were able to contact the agency that arrested him and we were able to ping off of his cell phone and we were able to get within 200 yards of his location. They were able to call in an additional units and take him into custody."
Savage is being held on a number of pending charges.
