Missoula Police don't believe that an elderly homeowner who shot an apparent home intruder, did anything wrong.
A 77-year-old man called Missoula Police at about 2 a.m. on Sunday, saying he had shot an intruder who broke into his house on the 500 block of Pattee Street.
The 22-year-old suspect was found inside the home with a single gunshot wound in his torso.
The man is currently hospitalized and is expected to survive.
Police say they found nothing in the investigation to suggest the homeowner broke any laws.
The suspect has not been charged yet, although that could change on Tuesday.
Police say the man first broke into the homeowner's vehicle before smashing his way into the house by throwing a chair through a window.
