MISSOULA - Police say they don't believe an elderly homeowner who shot an apparent home intruder over the weekend did anything wrong.
A 77-year-old man called 9-1-1 early Sunday morning, saying he had shot an intruder who broke into his house in the 500 block of Pattee Street.
The 22-year-old suspect was found inside the home with a single gunshot wound in his torso, but he is expected to survive.
Authorities say the intruder first broke into the homeowners vehicle before smashing his way into the house by throwing a chair through a window.
Police say they found nothing in the investigation to suggest the home owner broke any laws.
