MISSOULA - The Missoula Symphony Orchestra used music to honor veterans Sunday.
The "American Salute" concert featured music by great American composers and honored veterans and current soldiers.
The show included some of the most inspiring American tunes and focused on important figures and places in United States history.
Well-known actor and University of Montana graduate J.K. Simmons narrated parts of the show, including excerpts from some of Abraham Lincoln's famous speeches during the orchestra's performance of "Lincoln Portrait."
He says the concert is a great way to show respect to those who have fought and are fighting for our country.
"I think it's important to honor our veterans and our current soldiers," Simmons said. "And my message to all the veterans is just a simple thank you."
All veterans got free tickets to the concert, and hundreds showed up for the performance.
