Montana man accused of Cody, Wyoming kidnapping pleads not guilty to sexual assault charges

Cody, WY- A man accused of kidnapping and assaulting an 11-year-old Cody, Wyoming girl has pleaded not guilty to three counts of sexual assault.

Jesse Speer answered to those charges in a Cody, Wyoming District courtroom on Thursday, according to the Park County Attorney's Office in Cody, Wyoming.

On Dec. 21, 2012, Speer entered pleas of not guilty to charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and illegal use of a firearm.

Speer was arrested in Belgrade nearly a week after the Oct. 8 abduction and assault of the 11-year-old girl in Cody. He was stopped by authorities while driving his white Toyota 4-Runner in Belgrade on Oct. 13.

Surveillance cameras and witnesses led authorities to Speer who was a photographer in the Bozeman area and who most recently lived in Manhattan.
