MISSOULA - A Lolo man has pleaded not guilty to stabbing a man and the driving 100 mph down U.S. Highway 93 while drunk.
The Missoula County Sheriff's Office says Denny Smith and his wife went out drinking and when they got home, they got into a fight.
Investigators say Smith kicked and punched his wife and she called a friend for help. That friend later went to talk to Smith, and that's when Smith allegedly stabbed him in the arm and back.
Smith decided to take the victim to the hospital, but on the way there, he got pulled over for speeding and drunk driving.
A deputy then called an ambulance for his bleeding friend and arrested Smith
