BILLINGS - The man involved in a weekend standoff with Billings police appeared in court Tuesday afternoon.
In addition to the standoff, court documents reveal a tie between Joshua Heafner, 28, and an armed casino robbery late last week.
Heafner appeared in Yellowstone County Justice Court via video from the county jail to face an assault with a weapon charge.
Heafner was arrested Sunday night after a 90-minute standoff with police at a 920 Custer Avenue. Police were attempting to serve a warrant when Heafner threatened them to get out and told them that he had a gun.
That warrant related to an armed robbery last Friday at the Nickel Casino on Grand Avenue. Heafner is accused of displaying a gun during the robbery before taking off with cash.
Judge Larry Herman set the defendant's bond at $100,000. Heafner is set to be arraigned later this month.
