A Helena man was found guilty for murdering a fellow Montana State Prison inmate.

A jury found Shaun Duncan Morrison, 30, guilty of deliberate homicide for the murder of Julio Santiago Jr. He was also found guilty of possession of a deadly weapon by a prisoner.

On Sept. 4, 2011 Morrison and Santiago were both Montana State Prison inmates.

Morrison experienced extreme mental distress when Santiago stole a pair of ear buds. Morrison then killed Santiago with razor blades attached to a pen.

No sentencing date has been scheduled yet.

Morrison was already serving time in the prison for theft, burglary and assaulting a peace officer at the time of the murder.
