Montana State's women's basketball team who at one time had the best record in the Big Sky Conference is out of the tournament after losing their first round game to Eastern Washington, 68-53. The Bobcats took a three point lead after halftime, but then were outscored 22-2 and never recovered. Six straight of those points were scored by former Butte High School star, Lexi Nelson who led all scorers with 18.
MSU, meanwhile, couldn't get any player into double figures and to compound their problems they made 19 turnovers. Ashley Brumwell, Rachel Semansky and Kalli Durham all scored eight points each while Jackie Elliott added seven.
Eastern Washington will now face Montana in the semi finals of the tournament on Friday.
