GREAT FALLS - A woman was hospitalized after her vehicle hit a horse on Monday night in north central Montana.
Authorities say the crash happened just before 11 p.m. when a woman in her early 20s was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 87 near Armington Junction and hit a horse that had wandered into the road.
The woman was taken by ambulance to a Great Falls hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities on scene say the woman got glass in her eyes while the horse was killed in the collision.
The Montana Highway Patrol, Cascade County Sheriff's Office, Belt Ambulance and Belt Rural Fire all responded to the accident scene.
