BOZEMAN - Montana State senior guard Christian Moon was named the Big Sky Conference co-player of the week today. The Inkster, Michigan native averaged over 17 points, and 3 rebounds per game over the past week which saw MSU capture victories over Southern Utah, Weber State, and Idaho State.
Not only did Moon contribute in his total output on the scoreboard, but also did it at an incredibly efficient rate. Shooting .640 from the field, .538 from beyond the arc, and 13 of 17 from the line, Moon took advantage of almost every opportunity he was given.
It all started with a 24 point performance including five rebounds and two steals in the 8-point win over Southern Utah. His mid-week performance brought about a 16 point night on top of shooting 8-for-8 from the free throw line as the Bobcats handed Weber State their first conference loss of the season. Then to wrap up the week, he hauled in five rebounds on top of a 12 point night in the 61-59 overtime win over Idaho State Saturday night.
Montana State (6-4, 9-9) hits the road Thursday to take on Eastern Washington (2-7, 4-15) to finish the month of January and are back at home Thursday, February 7th against North Dakota at 7:05 pm.
