More honors arrived for Jody Owens and Caleb Schreibeis Wednesday, when Montana State's defensive co-captains landed on the Associated Press FCS All-America First Team.
A 6-0 senior from Mesquite, Tex., Owens also earned Big Sky Defensive MVP honors, adding a second consecutive unanimous selection to the league's all-conference team, as well. He led the Bobcats with 97 tackles and 15.5 tackles-for-loss. He also forced five fumbles, with four sacks. Owens has previously been selected First Team All-America by the American Football Coaches Association and The Sports Network.
Schreibeis led the FCS with eight forced fumbles in 2012, one of only three players in all divisions of NCAA football with that total, and led the Big Sky with 12.5 sacks. He landed on The Sports Network's First Team All-America squad, and is a finalist for that organization's Buck Buchanan Award as the top defensive player in the FCS.
