MISSOULA - Authorities have released the name of the 64-year-old man who died Friday near the confluence of the Blackfoot and Clark Fork rivers in Milltown.
George Lee Meltzer died while he was fishing from a raft with family members, but a coroner is still trying to determine the cause of death.
Emergency personnel responded to the report of a drowning just after 4:30 p.m., with preliminary findings indicating that it's highly probable that the death is natural, and was caused by a pre-existing medical condition.
Authorities believe the man's son got him out of the water and started CPR until help could get to the scene. Lifeflight was able to land near the incident and get the victim to the hospital quickly, but it was too late.
