This Saturday, as part of the Martin Luther King celebrations, volunteers will be busy around the Gallatin Valley for the National Day of Service.

Volunteers will be doing lots of work including building a house with Habitat for humanity in Belgrade and cleaning kennels and cuddling cats at the Heart of the valley animal shelter.

This is a nationwide event with many communities across Montana participating. Organizers say our local community is very supportive.

"To have events that require 20 volunteers to fill up already its great its so exciting I myself feel like when I call to set up these service opportunities with the non profits I feel like I'm telling then they won the lottery." said Judith Heilman, Montana National Day of Service Corrdinator.
