New Commissioner appointed in Butte-Silver Bow

A new commissioner has been appointed for Butte District 1.

Mark Moodry of Butte was selected out of 13 applicants. Moodry owns and operates Big Sky Reclamation in Butte. He graduated from Montana Tech with a degree in Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Moodry sat on the council representing district 7 from 2006 to 2010.

"I tend to focus primarily on what we are doing with the peoples' money, that we are keeping the community healthy, and that we are being responsible with those tax dollars," Moodry said.

The biggest challenge the county faces is keeping up with its' economic development goals and public infrastructure, according to Moodry.
