After months of hard work, a group of volunteers is ready to unveil a new addition to Bob Green Field at Montana Tech.
The Hallowed Ground structure is situated right behind the North End Zone of Alumni Coliseum in Butte.
Volunteers and students spent roughly two and half months working on the project and some football players helped with some of the heavy lifting.
The structure will be an important part of home games from now on.
The Tech football team will touch this granite plate before running under the arches and taking the field.
One player says it's exciting to be part of the new tradition.
MT Tech Linebacker Rob Corson said, "It's not only for this team this year but for the guys that came before us, the guys that showed us the way. You know, something that can be for all Montana Tech Orediggers, not just for this team but for the guys that come after us as well."
The structure isn't completely finished. Next week, copper plates will be installed on top of each column.
