WILLISTON, N.D. - Another month, and more record breaking numbers coming out of the Bakken oil patch in North Dakota.
Latest numbers from the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources indicate a record setting summer in terms of oil production.
This past August for the first time, oil production in North Dakota zoomed past the 900-thousand barrel/day mark.
Production figures from August totaled 911,242 barrels of oil a day, eclipsing the previous record of 875,736 barrels/day set this past July.
Just two years ago, North Dakota was pumping just over 446,000 barrels a day..
North Dakota also set a new mark for the number of producing wells.
In August, 9,452 wells were producing in North Dakota.
The previous record was set this past July with 9,334 producing wells.
