Pearl (Brown) Ostrum was born January 31, 1916 in Columbus, Montana. She was raised on the family ranch on Whitebird Creek, which is between Columbus and Absarokee.
Pearl married Jake Ostrum on December 18, 1935 in Red Lodge. Together they lived and ranched on Red Lodge Creek, the West Rosebud and Butcher Creek. In 1966, they moved to Fleishman Creek near Livingston where she lived until moving to Spring Meadows in Bozeman. Jake passed away in December of 1978.
Pearl is survived by her sister, Alice Timmel of Billings; daughter, Eleanor and Ken Bossert and family of White Sulphur Springs, MT; and son, Everett and Nancy Ostrum and family of Boise and Meridian, ID. In addition, she had four grandkids, five great-grandkids and two great-great-grandkids.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20 at American Lutheran Church in Livingston.
