One Class at a Time: Amsterdam Elementary First Grade

One Class at a Time: Amsterdam Elementary First Grade

This week's One Class at a Time recipient is the first grade class at Amsterdam Elementary School.

The class plans to use the money to buy new books.

Through the program, first grade teacher Martha Schneider received $250 to purchase grade level books for her classroom. Schneider says she tries to send books home every night with her students.

"Every night, yeah, so that then they go home, read it with their parents, and then in the morning they take a quiz on it to make sure they're not only reading but comprehending what they're reading," she said.
