In Ski Magazine's Reader Resort Survey, Big Sky Resort ranks 12th of 30 Resorts in the West, beating out many Colorado and Utah resorts.
The Big Sky and Moonlight Basin merger is nearly official, but until then, no changes have been announced to the current season pass sales on either side.
People have until September 30th to purchase a season pass for either Big Sky Resort or Moonlight Basin.
Those passes will be honored throughout the 2013 - 2014 ski season.
After September 30th, pass holders will be eligible to upgrade to an all mountain pass with access to both Big Sky and Moonlight.
The price for that upgrade will be determined within the first week of October, when the sale of Moonlight is scheduled to become official.
The biggest change so far is the lift tickets.
This year, people will not be able to buy just a Moonlight ticket or just a Big Sky ticket.
It's one lift ticket, one mountain, with access to both Moonlight and Big Sky. The merger will create 5500 acres of ski-able terrain.
