Police continue investigation into Whitefish murder-suicide

Whitefish police and the Flathead County Sheriff's office continue to investigate a murder-suicide that happened late Thursday night.

Police Chief Bill Dial tells us that while there is no such thing as an open and shut case, his office remains fairly confident in the details surrounding the murder of Gregory Rodriguez of Texas and the subsequent suicide of Wayne Bengston.

Dial tells us it will be two to three weeks before any toxicology reports are done to see if Bengston was under the influence of anything at the time of the shooting.

Dial also says his office has received numerous phone calls from national media outlets pushing to link Lindsey Bengston and Rodriguez romantically.

He told Montana's News Station that there is no evidence to support that claim, nor is his office investigating that aspect.
