What does the American public think of Congress after several days of a partial federal government shut-down?
Not much, according to a new report from Public Policy Polling.
The organization found that only 8% of voters approve of the job that Congress is doing, while 86% disapprove.
The polling firm conducted a phone survey of 502 registered voters between October 4th and 6th, and the results indicate that Congress doesn't fare too well in the court of public opinion when compared to - among other things - hemorrhoids, toenail fungus, dog poop, and cockroaches.
On the other hand, Congress did poll better than serial killers, Miley Cyrus, and Honey Boo Boo.
Dean Debnam, the president of Public Policy Polling, said in a press release, "Congress having an 8% approval rating tells us one thing about how unhappy voters are. But it's even more telling that voters have a lower opinion of it than annoyances like the DMV and jury duty, health
issues like hemorrhoids, and even witches."
