GREAT FALLS - Jamie Riehl was arrested on Sunday after passing marijuana to her inmate boyfriend Randall Stone at the Cascade County Detention Center.
Cascade County Sheriff Bob Edwards said the incident prompted a review of detention center procedures, and that no officer was found to be at fault.
Edwards explained, "A lot of people would be wondering why they have contact visits, as we call it. Generally when you're in the county jail you have to sit behind glass and talk on the phone. The State of Montana, we contract with them to hold their prisoners, so we have to follow their rules to a point and one of those rules is contact visits."
Riehl is facing charges of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal distribution of dangerous drugs, and transferring illegal articles.
Stone is facing charges of criminal distribution of dangerous drugs, attempted criminal distribution of dangerous drugs, and transferring illegal articles.
