GRASS RANGE, MT - Malmstrom Air Force and Fergus County authorities have shut down part of Montana Highway 19 to its junction with U.S. 191.
Malmstrom Public Affairs are citing safety and security of the people in the area.
Malmstrom Public Affairs stated personnel detected abnormal instrument readings and the actions taken are only a precaution.
Officials confirm a potential leak. According to public domain material from the Air Force Historical Research Agency, there is a minuteman missile launch site four miles north of Grass Range on Highway 19.
If there is an actual leak, Malmstrom public affairs personnel say they will inform the community and those at the site as to what measures to take to ensure their safety.
