BUTTE - Randy Rickman, the publisher of the Montana Standard, the Helena Independent-Record and the MIni-Nickel in Bozeman, is leaving his job.
According to an article in the Montana Standard and the Helena Independent-Record, Rickman has been publisher for the past four years and worked for parent company, Lee Newspapers, for more than 20 years. He worked outside the Lee Newspapers chain briefly when he was at the Hanford California Sentinel from 2003 to 2009.
He was born in Butte and lived in Helena until he was in middle-school.
The newspapers quoted Rickman as saying the decision to leave was not easy, because he is so loyal to Lee and to the local communities.
There is no mention of where Rickman will be going.
We have place multiple calls to the Montana Standard seeking comment, but those calls have not been returned.
