HAMILTON - Recently the Ravalli County Commissioners voted 3-2 to end funding for the Title X Family Planning services.
The decision came as a blow to the staff and patients at Ravalli County Public health who have been providing these services for more than 40 years.
Without the funding, services like birth control, counseling, annual exams, and others, will not be provided as of September 30th.
Ravalli County Public Health Director, Judy Griffin said the impact of this decisions is incomprehensible.
"The hardest part is to realize all these 400 people will not have an alternative and these are hard working people in the community, and it's not just woman because we serve men too," she said.
Commissioner Ron Stoltz who voted against the funding, said he was against the provision that allowed underage persons to receive medical services without notifying their parents.
