BOZEMAN - The company that owns the Rialto Theater in downtown Bozeman declined a $150,000 federal grant today.
In a letter obtained by KBZK, the owner of the Rialto cites various reasons for not being able to reach the March 17 deadline on certain requirements.
One of the Rialto's owners, Steven Michael, says losing the grant money will not stop them from finishing the renovation project. The theater is tentatively slated to open at the end of April.
Owners plan to feature up and coming singer-songwriters.
According to Mayor Sean Becker, the grant money will now go to the Emerson, if it can meet the requirement and if it is interested.
