Santa gives gift of donated blood

BILLINGS- Santa came to town Tuesdat with a special gift in mind, donating blood. After visiting with children and thanking local area donors, Santa sat in the chair and joined many others who donate blood this time of year.

For Santa, it's an ongoing donation that he believes is well worth the time and effort. "Things have went on here in the just recent past, with that sandy hook stuff. This is something that just kind of gives a little more to the kids and a little more to the community," he said.

United Blood Services is holding four-day blood drive, called Dj's Unite. Donors have a chance to meet their favorite DJ from local radio stations and give blood.

United Blood Services Recruitment Representative Carrie Rigney said that if more people do not come in to donate before the end of the year, an emergency appeal will be issued.

Rigney encourages regular and new donors to come in during the next two days of the drive; to give their donations.
