Powell County Sheriff's Office has stopped the search for an escaped Montana State Prison inmate and is now following up on leads.
Powell County Sheriff Scott Howard says his office is running down possible leads with no luck at this time.
42 year old Dean Randolph Jess was last seen Monday morning.
He escaped from the prison while responding to a motor vehicle maintenance call.
His vehicle was found on the south end of the prison ranch.
A manhunt ensued in the Bielenberg area, east of Racetrack for the next two days.
The search ended on Wednesday.
Jess serving time at the prison for a 2005 conviction of incest and failure to register as a sexual or violent offender.
Jess was wearing a blue shirt and pants. He is 5'10" tall, medium build and 180 pounds. He is a white male with green eyes and a shaved head.
The public is advised that Jess should not be approached, he could be dangerous. If you've seen Jess you should call authorities or 911 immediately.
