MISSOULA - Search and rescue teams are at Snowbowl ski area looking for a skier who was reported missing on Wednesday afternoon.
The Missoula County Sheriff's Office tells us the skier went missing around 3 p.m. after reportedly exploring with some friends.
It's unclear at this point whether the skier went out-of-bounds, but the skier was able to get in touch with ski patrol on a cell phone.
The skier thought he was in the Grant Creek Drainage, and officials tell us ski patrol members advised him to walk down the mountain, and that was the last they heard from him.
Rescue officials started searching for the skier at around 8 p.m. Wednesday, and met again Thursday at 7 a.m. But so far, there has been no sign of the missing skier.
We will keep you posted on the search efforts as more information becomes available.
