SACO, MT - A head-on collision between two semi trucks, one carrying government property, has closed a section of Highway 2 in Valley County and Phillips County.
According to Montana Highway Patrol Captain Ed Hilbert, the accident occurred at around 6 a.m. on Thursday.
Hilbert says no one was injured in the accident, but the military wants the area secured until a crew from Malmstrom Air Force Base arrives and can examine the area.
A perimeter of 1 mile has been set up around the crash site.
Hilbert has been told there are no "active" explosives on the load and there's no immediate threat.
He says the semi in question is carrying a "secure load with government material."
Highway 2 from Saco to four miles west of Hinsdale is closed.
Traffic is being detoured along a county road.
According to Hilbert, heavy fog and ice in the area caused a number of crashes in that area this morning.
