Semi rolls on Homestake Pass

The driver of a semi truck is in stable condition after his vehicle crashed into several pieces off the interstate.
Just before 6am Tuesday, the driver of the semi truck was traveling east bound on Interstate-90.
He was at Homestake Pass between mile marker 236 and 237 when he veered off the interstate.
Montana Highway Patrol says the semi truck hit a guard rail.
The driver tried to steer back into his lane but the trailer swung out over the edge, causing the semi truck to roll 1 time.
It broke into several pieces over rocks and spilled grain.
The driver was wearing a seat belt but was trapped inside the cab of the truck and was extricated.
He was transported to St. James Healthcare Center by Whitehall Ambulance.
Amazingly the driver is only suffering from soreness.
Emergency responders worked to clean up the large crash site.
One lane of traffic was shut down and cars were having to move over for cleanup.
MHP says alcohol was not a factor but that a distraction in the cab or drowsiness may be to blame for the crash.
Citations are pending upon the investigation.
