Don't be alarmed if you see smoke in the air near the Bridger Mountains, Gallatin Canyon and in the Hebgen Basin.
In the next few weeks fire crews on the Bozeman and Hebgen Lake Ranger Districts will be burning slash piles. As the fall weather continues it provides a great opportunity to safely clean up the piles of brush, branches, and vegetation.
Pile burning will likely continue as long as the weather is conducive and until the winter snowpack is established in these areas.
For more information please contact the Bozeman Ranger District at (406) 522-252- or the Hebgen Lake Ranger District at (406) 823-6961.
