BISMARK, ND - More than one foot of snow has fallen in much of western North Dakota over the weekend, and more was expected into Monday morning.
Dickinson reported 16" of snow, Bismarck had 15" and many other places were buried in 14" or more. Interstate highways were shut down, and officials were advising no travel in much of the state.
The Montana Department of Transportation reports that Interstate 94 is closed from Glendive to the North Dakota line due to the snow.
A snow emergency was declared in Bismark, and plows were struggling to keep up with the heavy snowfall.
Northern areas of the state received less snow, but travel was still very difficult because of high winds.
