A soldier serving with the National Guard orginally from Sidney, Montana has been killed while serving in Afghanistan.
The North Dakota National Guard is only saying an incident occurred in Afghanistan involving North Dakota soldiers.
A source at Camp Grafton in Devils Lake North Dakota confirms that soldier Darren Linde died in Afghanistan.
According to Linde's Facebook page it appears he leaves behind a wife and children. Linde lived in Devils Lake but was originally from Sidney, Montana.
Neither Camp Grafton nor the North Dakota National Guard has released any more details on Linde's death other than saying an incident took place in Afghanistan involving soldiers from North Dakota.
More information on the incident is expected late tonight.
