BILLINGS - A Republican candidate for U.S. Senate has announced that he is now running for the House. Former state Senator Corey Stapleton made his decision public Tuesday afternoon.
Many are speculating that Congressman Steve Daines will run for Senate. Stapleton says based on this information he is switching races.
"The prize is to win in November and we need to keep our eyes focused on that outcome" Stapleton told MTN News.
"That's why I'm stepping aside and running for the House. It gives us a better shot at winning both races. I don't consider that a sacrifice. I think that's a good way of not just serving our state but also unifying some of the problems we had in 2012."
