WHITEFISH - It's been about a month since a Montana judge ruled in favor of keeping the Jesus statue on Whitefish Mountain Resort.
And so far, no appeal has been filed.
The Freedom from Religion Foundation has another month to appeal the decision to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
The Wisconsin-based group filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Forest Service last year, claiming the religious statue should not be allowed on public land.
An FFRF spokesperson tells us the group is still in the process of reaching out to the plaintiffs involved in the lawsuit before making a final decision on an appeal.
"We have 12 other lawsuits going right now, so it's just a matter of busy schedules and trying to get a hold of everybody and come to a consensus. So, we're still mulling it over," said Rebecca Market FFRF Attorney.
The Jesus statue has been on top of Big Mountain for nearly 60 years.
