MISSOULA - Suspended University of Montana quarterback Jordan Johnson has been found not guilty of rape.
The jury began deliberating at around 1:15 p.m. Friday. Just before 4 p.m., the jury brought back its verdict to a packed courtroom.
Some of Johnson's teammates were among the throng of spectators in court on Friday, as were many members of the media.
Johnson has been accused of rape in the case after a February 2012 incident. The woman has said that she was raped while Johnson maintains the sex was consensual.
