LAME DEER - An 18-year-old male is dead after he was hit by a vehicle on Highway 212 early Saturday.
The teen, whose identity is not being released at this time, was walking along Highway 212 near mile marker 39 when a vehicle driving westbound hit him and then drove away.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol dispatch center, the driver of the vehicle, a 42-year-old male, was found at around noon on Saturday.
The F.B.I and Bureau of Indian Affairs are currently handling the investigation.
There is no word on who the driver is or if he will face any charges.
The incident happened some time before 4 a.m.
The victim was taken to a hospital in Lame Deer where he passed away a few hours later.
Rosebud County Coroner Allen Fulton said his office usually waits 24 hours until releasing the identity of a victim involved in a fatal accident.
