BOZEMAN - Lock your vehicle while you're fishing!
That's the word from the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, which reports that there has been an increase in thefts from vehicles parked at local fishing access sites.
The thefts have occurred during the day when owners are recreating. Credit cards, wallets, cash and electronics have been stolen.
Thieves are using tools to reach into cracked windows to activate automatic door lock button, according to the sheriff's office.
Sheriff Brian Gootkin reminds people to take the following precautions: lock your car, leave the windows rolled up and secure or take valuables with you.
