All three sets of twins were delivered by Cesarean Section.
Proud mother Melissa Donnelly gave birth to Leander Gatlin at 10:12 a.m. and his brother Aiden came along just a minute later. Leander weighed six pounds, one ounce and Aiden weighed five pounds, 11 ounces.
New parents Jamie and Nathan Mertz are the proud parents of Derek and Drew. Derek was born at 12:05 p.m., weighing five pounds, five ounces. His little brother Drew weighed four pounds, 12 ounces and was born at 12:06 p.m.
Kelly and Joe Muzzana are the proud parents of Mercedes and Lexus. Mercedes was born at 7:48 a.m. and weighed at total of seven pounds, 11 ounces and Lexus was born a minute later weighing seven pounds, three ounces.
Staff on hand Tuesday say it is a day they will never forget. "I've been a labor and delivery nurse since 1982 and I've been at Saint Vincent's for 18 years and this is the first time I've had this many twins in that short of period of time," said Clinical Supervisor JoAnn Hurlocker. "I did work at one time in a hospital that did 4,000 deliveries a year, so you would think you'd see it there."
