The atmosphere is very unstable with a strong SW flow aloft and moisture. This combination is producing intense short lived snow bursts throughout SW Montana from West Yellowstone to Butte to Bozeman.
Thunderstorms are now developing in eastern Idaho and tracking to the NE and could impact West Yellowstone and Yellowstone National Park through 6pm. Thunder-snow is a strong possibility!
This thunderstorm is producing strong winds on I-15 in Idaho with gusts up to 50 mph.
Chief Meteorologist Mike Heard will have the latest weather forecast tonight at 5:30pm and 10pm on KBZK and KXLF.
