Tips sought in Montana moose poaching case

MISSOULA - State wildlife officials are looking for the public's help as they try to solve a recent moose poaching case.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks reports that a cow moose was killed in Spotted Dog Wildlife Management Area, near Avon, during the week of October 7.

FWP Game Warden Joe Kambic reported finding a cow moose along Spotted Dog Creek, located in the middle of the WMA near the reservoir.

Most of the moose, including meat and hide, was taken, but wardens recovered the remaining evidence and are now looking for help from the public to solve the case.

Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call 1.800.TIP.MONT. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 for providing information that leads to a conviction.
