BOZEMAN - A homeless man accused of trying to kill another man at a transient camp near I-90 pleads not guilty to the crime.
John Hodges, 52, is charged with attempted deliberate homicide and tampering with evidence.
After pleading not guilty on Tuesday, Gallatin County District Court Judge Holly Brown continued the man's bail at $1 million.
Police say Hodges shot another transient man in the back three times with a black powder pistol last month during an argument. The male victim survived the shooting, but suffered major injuries.
