TROY - A Troy man died in a Sunday evening crash on Montana Highway 56 south of Troy.
Billy Don Norman, 29, died after his 2007 Dodge Caliber crossed the centerline at milepost 26.5 at about 8:10 p.m. and went into the ditch on the opposite side of the roadway where it rolled over several times before coming to rest, Montana Highway Patrol Sgt. Duane Bowers said.
Norman was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover, Bowers said. An investigation into the wreck is still underway.
Bowers added that at this time "the cause of the crash is consistent with a driver performing an evasive maneuver by swerving around an animal or other obstruction in the roadway."
