Residents in Twin Bridges are still without power as of 7 p.m. Friday following a severe windstorm that blew through the town Friday, according to Chris Mumme, director of emergency management for Madison County. Representatives with NorthWestern Energy report there are 11 transmission lines down in the surrounding area.
Four work crews are removing trees that fell on power lines, homes and vehicles. Emergency management teams are going door-to-door to check on everyone in the community, according to Mumme. The biggest concerns are conserving water supply and protecting perishable foods.
The windstorm started about 3:45 p.m.Thursday. The National Weather Service recorded 90 mile per winds speeds.
The Twin Bridges Fire Department is accepting donations to help the town get back on its feet. Donations can be sent to 210 N Main, Twin Bridges, MT 59754. Contact the Twin Bridges Fire Department at (406) 684-5243.
