BUTTE-The Montana Business Quarterly is reporting the U.S. Census Bureau over estimated the population of Silver Bow County in 2010.
The U.S. Census Bureau estimated the populations of the 10 most populated counties in Montana, including Silver Bow County.
The Fall issue of Montana Business Quarterly says Silver Bow County was over estimated in population by 3.5%.
The largest population error for the 10 most populated counties was made in Lincoln County with a 5.3% over estimate.
Gallatin County was underestimated in population by less than 2%.
The largest population error in the entire state was in Liberty County with a 33.4% over estimate.
The Montana Quarterly says the U.S. Census Bureau is reviewing the estimates to identify the errors in those estimates.
