A Bozeman man has died after a motorcycle crash on Bridger Drive Tuesday evening.

The 51-year-old man was driving a Harley Davidson Sportster when he collided with a Chevy Impala driven by a 23-year-old Bozeman man at around 5 p.m. Tuesday at 1500 Bridger Drive, according to Bozeman police.

This motorcycle rider was thrown into and over the Impala, sustaining critical injuries to the head and body. He was not wearing a helmet.

The 51-year-old man was initially transported to the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital and then flown to St. Patrick Providence Hospital in Missoula where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.

Bozeman Police Officer Franscioni and Sergeant Munter are completing an investigation into the crash. Speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash and it is undetermined whether alcohol and/or drugs were a factor.

No criminal charges have been given or requested at this time.
