Update on the current drought across Montana shows conditions worsening up to the 23rd of October.
The worst drought conditions continue across the southern half of the state with NW Montana experiencing no drought conditions at all.
Right now, over 60% of Montana is experiencing some level of drought conditions with 13% of the state under Extreme Drought conditions.
According NOAA, conditions will only get worse in the coming months with a projected weak El Nino to produce above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation throughout the winter months across the central and northern Rockies.
Despite the recent rainfall and snow drought conditions continue.
